Electric Freeway SmartCharge user?
Download the Electric Freeway app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Go directly to download on your phone, or set up on PC from:Log in | Electric Freeway
Open the app and select create new user.
Enter your name, email address and password and press Register. Go to charger and follow in-app instructions to select charger.
Choose a payment method. This is optional, but recommended. Follow these instructions to add a payment method later.
Add an RFID tag if you don't want to use the app while charging, or if you want to have multiple users on the same account. If you skip this step, follow this instruction to do it later.
The user has been added.
How do I charge without using app on a smartphone?
Instead of using the Electric Freeway app, you can do the following:
1. Access our web app in your browser. Log in tohttps://app.electricfreeway.no/
2. Scan the RFID tag on the charging point (see below). This requires the RFID tag to be registered in your Electric Freeway profile.
3. Start/stop charging with SMS on the phone. This requires SMS payment to be activated at the charging point. Follow the instructions at the charging point. Unfortunately, the SMS service currently only works for Norwegian registered phone numbers.
How do I add one?

2. Press Add your first charging chip.
3. Select the charging point you are close to. Remember that the app.
4. Select the charging point you are next to.
5. Scan the RFID card/chip on the RFID reader

I don't see my charger in the SmartCharge app!
1. If you are logged in and still cannot see the charging point, the charging point may be hidden and/or your email is not registered on the charging point. The reason why many housing associations choose that their facility should be hidden is because the facility is reserved for users in the housing association.
2. Contact Electric Freeway to register your email..
I have not received a registration email from Electric Freeway
1. Sometimes e-mail ends up in the spam/ad filter of your e-mail client. Make sure Electric Freeway is a trusted email sender to receive future emails in your inbox.
2. If you still cannot find any emails, you can contact the station owner / operator. Your email address may be misspelled or mixed up with someone else's.
3. In some startups, it is assumed that users themselves register and create users. If so, find instructions in the app or on this page.
Can I order RFID tags from Electric Freeway?
Unfortunately, Electric Freeway does not supply RFID tags. Both NAF and the Electric Vehicle Association supply charging chips to members, in addition to which they can be purchased reasonably in many electronics stores. An already registered charging chip can be used, so you can use any RFID chip you already have to start and stop charging.
The charging cable is stuck in the charging box
Unfortunately, this can happen from time to time. Reasons for this may be that the charging point has lost its connection to Electric Freeway SmartCharge. There can be several reasons, such as a power failure in the charger, lack of internet connection or local machine problem with the charging box.
A restart of the charging point often solves the problem. If not, contact an electrician or operator of the charging station

1. To change the email address (username) of a current Electric Freeway SmartCharge user, please contact Electric Freeway SmartCharge Support.
2. If not you can create a new Electric Freeway SmartCharge user with the correct email address.
How to end SmartCharge
the subscription to a charging point
By following this guide, you will end your monthly subscription immediately. You will be invoiced for the remaining days after the last invoice. Remember that the charging point will then not work unless you are added as the owner again or another user is added.
1. Log into the Electric Freeway SmartCharge app and find your charger.
2. Go to Settings on your charger
3. Tap Remove charger
4. Confirm your selection by pressing Remove
5. Your charger will now not be available until you create a new profile for this charger

How to charge?
The charging session starts automatically when you connect the car to the charger, if you have set the app to open charging. The key must be in the unlocked position. The charging session stops when charging is complete. To end the session before charging, you must first disconnect the car and then the charger.
Box won't start charging?
1. Is there a green light on the front panel button? If yes: go to the next step. If no: Turn the key to unlock the position. If it still doesn't light up: Charger is broken or has no power - > contact an electrician / Electric Freeway Support
2. Check whether the charging cable is correctly connected in the car and charging. (The connection can be very tight in these boxes)
3. Check if your Electric Freeway SmartCharge user is added as an owner in the box. Log into the Electric Freeway SmartCharge app and see "Your Charger"
4. Have you added a payment solution to the app? If yes: Is the method valid (not expired) and covered?
5. The car battery may be fully charged. The cable may be damaged.
6. Contact Electric Freeway support if none of the above options worked for you.
How fast will the car charge?
The charger has the ability to charge up to 22kW. The actual charging speed will vary depending on the car and the current to the network in the building.
What is the function of the key?
A pair of keys comes with the charger when it is installed. The purpose is to provide access to charging. If the keys are lost, contact the installer who installed the chargers.
What is the meaning of the different LED lights?

Can more than one Electric Freeway user be added to the box?
No, but another person (that you trust) can log in with the same user account details. That way, both have access to the same information in the app.
Who decides the price of charging and how is it calculated?
The station owner (often the housing association/condominium/parking lot owner) has expenses related to the charging point, for example internet connection, service and maintenance. The charging price is often set to cover these expenses in addition to electricity costs and VAT of course.
Through the SmartCharge portal, the station owner can enter a start-up cost, price per kWh, price per minute and/or occupied cost per minute.
Why do I pay a monthly subscription?
This is the price for the services Electric Freeway offers the station owner. The end users are billed for this subscription at the request of the station owner.

1. To add a new or change a payment method, go to Settings in the Electric Freeway app and tap Payment 2. Tap Add a payment method 3. Choose to either add a payment card or a PayPal account. 4. Register information from the payment card or your PayPal account. If the information is correct, the payment method Register will be highlighted. 5. Confirm payment solution with BankId 6. The card has been added. Add more payment methods if you wish.
How do I add a charging chip / RFID chip?
1. Open the Electric Freeway app, go to settings and select Charging chips. 2. Press Add your first charging chip 3. Select the charging point you are close to. 1. This is probably because a charging session is still in progress. Stop the session in the Electric Freeway SmartCharge app or disconnect the cable from the car. This will unlock the cable from the charging box. 2. If charging is not in progress, there may be several possible reasons why your charging cable is stuck, including that your battery is discharged or there is a hardware fault. Ask support to check from their side first to see if it is the charger or the car that is the cause.
